Well, they’re over and the results are what they are!
But I’m pleased that our incumbent Councilor, Jim Tovey, retained his seat at Mississauga’s City Hall.
A point of interest is, that in any election, there will always be a number of candidates who’ll pay their registration fee just to have another page filled in their scrapbook.
Others want to get some recognition for their professional day job.
For example, early in the campaign period, we found a flyer in our mailbox from Shane McNeil, BA, Front Runner for Ward 1 Councilor.
After this political introduction he proceeds to inform us that he is a Practicing Accountant always accepting new Tax Clients, Individuals and Business.
Well, this “Front Runner” received only 5% of the votes and totally shot down any credibility as a “Practicing Accountant” in the process.
Although all the mainstream news channels gave the election outcome broad coverage, no one mentioned poor’old Shane so I’m just filling in the void.
If the press performed any other injustices, I’d like to hear about them.
